Accommodation

Regensburg is a lively university city with over 30,000 students. As a result, the housing market is very tight. The search for a room is the student's own responsibility! It is recommended that you start your search as early as possible, as many rooms are allocated early!

What you should know

  • The OTH Regensburg does not have its own halls of residence. However, the International Office of the OTH Regensburg is allowed to manage a very limited number of dormitory rooms from other companies in order to allocate them to our exchange students. If a few exchange students are unable to come to Regensburg, the International Office can also allocate these rooms to international degree-seeking students for a limited period of time. To put your name on the waiting list for available rooms via the International Office, please fill out the onlineapplication form for the waiting list. (This is only the application for the waiting list of the International Office of OTH Regensburg! The official application for a room in a hall of residence can be found on the website of the respective hall of residence).

  • International OTH students can apply for a room in a hall of residence. The largest provider of halls of residence is, for example, the StudierendenwerkNiederbayern/Oberpfalz. However, there are also many other providers of residential complexes in Regensburg.

You can find all information about halls of residence, addresses and links in our overview of accommodation.

A valid certificate of enrolment is a prerequisite for a place in a hall of residence.

Please apply early for a room and note the application deadlines of the individual residential complex!

  • When searching the free housing market, also use

    • the offers in the daily newspaper,
    • notices on college and university notice boards,
    • internet exchanges and
    • social media.

All information on halls of residence, addresses and links can be found in our overview of housing.

  • If you can't find a room directly in the city of Regensburg, you can also look outside and commute to OTH Regensburg with your student ID, which includes a valid ticket for local public transport. Hostels, youth hostels and hotels are available for short-term stays.
