Amidst the ongoing energy transition, there's a pressing need for social engagement in restructuring our supply system. Beyond the focus on economically efficient energy generation and distribution, optimizing the use of valuable energy resources emerges as a crucial aspect. Energy efficiency stands as a cornerstone in both current and future energy policies. While industry, trade, and commerce have long incorporated corresponding concepts and technologies, the untapped technological potential remains significant. Legislators are actively providing incentives to encourage companies to enhance their energy efficiency endeavors.

In response to this landscape, the Regensburg Center of Energy and Resources (RCER) at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg), with the support of the Ostbayerische Technologie-Transfer-Institut (OTTI) e. V. and the IHK Regensburg für Oberpfalz/Kelheim, orchestrated the "2nd Regensburg Energy Congress - Focus on Energy Efficiency" on February 24th and 25th, 2015. This two-day event convened insights and experiences from companies, academia, and policymakers.
