Interdisciplinary and regional research

Interdisciplinary work, solving complex problems as a team: Collaboration between researchers across the boundaries of faculties, disciplines and laboratories - that is the core of the Regensburg Centres (RC). Since 2012, OTH Regensburg has been using these centres to demonstrate its concentrated research expertise in important future fields like almost no other university. Collaborative research also plays a decisive role at OTH Regensburg. Researchers from OTH Regensburg and OTH Amberg-Weiden work together in research clusters. The interdisciplinary research units also include the competence centres, under whose umbrella topics relevant to research strategy are institutionalised. In addition, the technology campuses complement the university's research profile by driving forward application-related projects in close cooperation with regional companies.
