After the first enrolment at the university, you must re-register for the continuation of your studies for the second and all following semesters.

How do I re-register?

The re-registration deadline for the summer semester 2024 is from 8 January 2024 - 24 January 2024 (deviating deadline in the final semester, see below).

Please transfer the re-registration fee of EUR 181 (student service feeEUR 72 andRVVsemester ticket EUR 109) to the following account:

Payment reference for transfer (not customer reference): matriculation number and name

Please indicate only matriculation number and name. Please do not enter any other information such as semester or course of study! If you provide additional information, we cannot allocate your payment. This can lead to termination of your enrolment due to non-registration! Please be especially careful about this!

Please check the Student Service Portal (SSP) after 5 working days to see whether your bank transfer has been received correctly and you have been re-registered.

I am currently in my final semester of studies. Do I have to re-register?

  1. If you expect to graduate during the current semester, please do not transfer the semester fee for the next semester during the regular re-registration period.
  2. Whether or not you have to re-register depends on the date you successfully complete your programme of study. The official semester dates are 1 October – 14 March for a winter semester and 15 March – 30 September for a summer semester. If your last exam result required to complete the programme (usually the final thesis) is announced  electronically in the Student Service Portal (SSP)before the last day of a semester, then you have completed your programme during that semester. Please note that only the electronic notification of grades in the Student Service Portal (SSP) is legally binding! After the result is announced in SSP, you will be de-registered ex officio at the end of the semester in which you successfully completed your studies. If your final result was not announced in SSP before the last day of one semester, you are required to re-register for the next one. You can expect to successfully complete your thesis during the current semester if the written version of the final thesis is submitted at least two months before the end of the semester (i.e. thesis submission before 30 July for a summer semester or January 14 for a winter semester). The examiner must issue the assessment by the eighth day before the end of the semester at the latest. Please clarify the date of submission and the correction time with your supervisor. It is not possible to de-register retroactively as of the end of the prior semester!
  3. Please wait for the announcement of grades to see whether all examinations have been passed. For details, please check thetimetable.
  4. If you need to re-register, you can transfer the semester fee in the time between the announcement of the grades and the end of the semester.
  5. Five working days later you can use the Student Service Portal (SSP) to check whether your transfer has been received correctly and whether you have been re-registered.

How do I receive a refund of my semester fee?

  • If your enrolment was terminated before the start of the semester, if you did not enrol or if your admission to the study program has been revoked, we will refund the paid semester fee ex officio. A refund application is not necessary.

    If you are simultaneously enrolled at OTH Regensburg and at another Bavarian university, you can submit arefund application to theStudentenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz before the first day of lectures of the respective semester.

    In the case of termination of enrolment due to a change of university (admission and enrolment in an admission-restricted course at another university within one month after the start of the semester), you can submit arefund application to the Studentenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz. 

    In all the above-mentioned cases, the OTH-Regensburg card must be handed in at the Admissions and Organisation Office of the Department of Studies.
