The event offered students a wide range of support options as they prepared to enter the world of work. For instance, they had the opportunity to have professional application photos taken directly on campus at a reduced rate. In addition, staff from the Career Service and the International Office were on hand to provide personalised advice. During one-to-one sessions, they reviewed the participants’ application documents and provided valuable tips on how to improve both the content and presentation.
A particular highlight was the ‘Career Speed Dating’ session. In twelve-minute sessions, students and employers were able to get to know one another personally and make initial contacts. As soon as one round was over, the students moved on to the next employer. Eight employers from various sectors took part in the event and were delighted by the high level of interest shown by the students.
A total of 53 students from various faculties took advantage of the opportunities on offer at the Career Day. The event was rounded off with a relaxed ‘get-together’ in the foyer of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, where participants were able to continue chatting and networking over snacks and drinks.
About the organisers
The Career Service is part of the Student Lifecycle Centre at OTH Regensburg. The service centre supports students with counselling, guidance and networking opportunities, from before they commence their studies right through to their transition into working life. To enhance such services, particularly for international students, the OTH BRIDGE project was launched, which is based within the International Office.
CONNECTA e.V. is a student association that organises the annual CONNECTA company recruitment fair. The next fair will take place on 21–22 October 2026 on the OTH Regensburg campus. More than 200 exhibitors will be showcasing their organisations in the 1,000-square-metre marquee and in the OTH Regensburg buildings.
