The OTH Regensburg’s AI-tech university certificate programme has got off to a successful start with its first intake. The six-day certificate course offered participants from a wide range of industries a practical introduction to the world of artificial intelligence and provided a fundamental understanding of machine learning concepts and their practical application.
This new continuing professional development programme is aimed at technicians with a non-academic background. It teaches the fundamentals of machine learning and combines a solid theoretical foundation with a varied range of practical exercises. Among other things, participants learn about key algorithms such as linear regression, logistic regression and neural networks, and implement their own machine learning projects from data collection through to analysis. In addition, they gain insights into how large language models such as ChatGPT work.
Feedback from participants confirms that this new continuing professional development programme can make an important contribution to the training of specialists in the field of AI. The certificate course consists of two microcredentials and, upon successful completion, leads to a university certificate worth a total of 5 ECTS credits. A further intake is already being planned.
