Die OTH Regensburg hat eine Kooperationsvereinbarung mit der Ho Chi Minh University of Science (HCMUS) in Vietnam unterzeichnet. Die feierliche Unterzeichnung fand in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) statt und markiert den offiziellen Start der Zusammenarbeit. Die OTH Regensburg baut dadurch ihren langjährigen Kooperations-Schwerpunkt in Vietnam auf. Vietnam ist eines der am stärksten wachsenden Länder in Südost-Asien mit einer herausragenden Bedeutung für die deutsche Industrie.
Der Vizepräsident der HCMUS Prof. Minh-Triet Tran besiegelte mit seiner Unterschrift das Dokument und zeigte sich über die Möglichkeiten für Studierenden-Austausch und akademischer Kooperation sehr erfreut.
Prof. Dr. Ralph Schneider, Präsident der OTH Regensburg, und Prof. Dr. Oliver Steffens, Vizepräsident für Forschung und Internationalisierung, freuen sich, dass mit der HCMUS bereits die siebte Partnerschaft mit einer vietnamesischen Hochschule abgeschlossen wurde. Es bestehen bereits Kooperationen mit der Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), der Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), der Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City (TDTU), der Vietnamese German University (VGU) sowie der Vietnam National University – University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) in Hanoi und der Vietnam National University – University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET). Über diese Kooperationen wurden bereits Studierende und auch Dozent*innen ausgetauscht.
Prof. Dr. Markus Westner, Professor für Wirtschaftsinformatik, der die Kooperation auf Regensburger Seite federführend in die Wege geleitet hat, betonte: „Die Ho Chi Minh University of Science als Teil der Vietnam National University ist eine der größten und renommiertesten Universitäten in Vietnam und passt ideal zur Größe und internationalen Ausrichtung der OTH Regensburg und auch der Fakultät Informatik und Mathematik.“

The OTH Regensburg and the Ho Chi Minh University of Science - Vietnam National University have signed a cooperation agreement aiming to facilitate student and lecturer exchanges and also, carry out joint projects.
The Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ho Chi Minh University of Science (HCMUS) in Vietnam. The signing ceremony took place in Ho Chi Minh City on 7 March 2023 and marks the official start of the cooperation. As a result, OTH Regensburg is building on its long-standing relationship in Vietnam. Vietnam is one of the fastest growing countries in Southeast Asia with significant importance for German industry.
The Vice President of HCMUS, Prof. Minh-Triet Tran, signed the document and expressed his appreciation about the opportunities for student exchange and academic cooperation.
Prof. Dr. Ralph Schneider, President of OTH Regensburg, and Prof. Dr. Oliver Steffens, Vice President for Research and Internationalisation, are pleased that HCMUS is already the seventh partnership with a Vietnamese university. There are already cooperations with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), the Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City (TDTU), the Vietnamese German University (VGU) as well as the Vietnam National University - University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) in Hanoi and the Vietnam National University - University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET). Students and lecturers have already participated in these collaborations.
Prof. Dr. Markus Westner, Professor of Business Informatics, who was in charge of initiating the cooperation on the Regensburg side, emphasised: "The Ho Chi Minh University of Science as part of the Vietnam National University, is one of the largest and most renowned universities in Vietnam and is an ideal match for the size and international orientation of OTH Regensburg and the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics”.
