Terms and conditions for participation in fee-based further education courses offered by OTH Regensburg
As of 18 November 2025
The following terms and conditions of participation apply to all fee-based further education courses offered by OTH Regensburg. They supplement the statutes governing the collection of fees and charges at OTH Regensburg [German only].
- The scope and content of the further education courses are specified in the respective course programme. OTH Regensburg reserves the right to use substitute lecturers and/or to make minor changes to the course content in exceptional cases.
- Upon registration, a private law contract is concluded between the participant and OTH Regensburg. Registration is binding and must be made in writing using the respective registration form on the OTH Regensburg website. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received.
- OTH Regensburg reserves the right to admit participants to further education events subject to certain admission requirements.
- OTH Regensburg shall be liable without limitation for damages resulting from injury to life, limb or health. OTH Regensburg shall only be liable for other damages in cases of intent and gross negligence. In cases of slight negligence, OTH Regensburg shall only be liable for the breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), but limited to typical, foreseeable damage. Liability for indirect damage, loss of profit or consequential damage is excluded, unless there is intent or gross negligence.
- Unless otherwise specified, participants will receive a certificate of attendance from OTH Regensburg after completion of the course. If the awarding of a certificate or one or more microcredentials is planned, this will be announced in the course programme, stating the requirements for awarding them. Further details are regulated in the relevant statutes [German only].
- All further education materials may only be reproduced with the consent of OTH Regensburg or the lecturers concerned.
- Invoices are generally issued at the latest at the start of the further education course. In the event of late payment, participants may be excluded from further attendance at the course. Outstanding participation fees will be collected via an automated dunning procedure. Certificates etc. will only be issued after full payment of the participation fee. The participation fee is due in accordance with the payment terms stated on the invoice.
- Withdrawal from the contract must be made in writing at least 14 days before the start of the event. No participation fee is payable for withdrawals made before the expiry of the withdrawal period. If participants withdraw after this period has expired, the participation fees are payable in full.
- OTH Regensburg reserves the right to cancel further education events at short notice for important reasons. Important reasons include, for example, an insufficient number of participants or the absence of lecturers due to illness. In this case, OTH Regensburg is obliged to refund the participation fees in full, provided they have already been paid. Further claims for damages by participants against OTH Regensburg are excluded.
- The place of jurisdiction for disputes arising from the further education contract is Regensburg.
- In case of any discrepancy between the German and the English version of the terms and conditions for participation in fee-based further education courses, the German version shall prevail.
