Bavarian Diversity Network for Universities of Applied Sciences Established

Diversity thrives on dialogue and on a variety of perspectives, experiences and ways of life. In spring 2026, a cross-university network for diversity at Bavarian universities of applied sciences was established in collaboration with HAW Landshut.

The two initiators, Miriam Kerl, Diversity Officer and Anti-Discrimination Liaison at OTH Regensburg, and Miriam Salbeck from the Diversity Management Unit at HAW Landshut, have created a space in which stakeholders from currently 18 Bavarian universities of applied sciences and art colleges can regularly exchange ideas and work on shared challenges and issues.

This diversity of perspectives makes it possible to identify needs and provide new impetus for the further development of diversity structures within the higher education context. The aim of the network is to learn from one another, share best practice and embed diversity sustainably in teaching, research and everyday university life in Bavaria.

All diversity stakeholders at Bavarian universities of applied sciences and art colleges are warmly invited to join the network.

Role Models Wanted!

OTH Regensburg is looking for role models for studying with disabilities/chronic illness. The particular challenges these students face shall be acknowledged and appreciated.

Diversity audit "Vielfalt gestalten"

The "Vielfalt gestalten" audit encourages universities to accept the challenges associated with diversity, to recognise diversity as an opportunity and to develop and implement a specific diversity strategy.

Diversity Day at OTH Regensburg

Every year, OTH Regensburg takes part in the Diversity Day, which the Charta der Vielfalt e.V. calls on companies and institutions to participate in. The day works as a symbol for diversity and against discrimination!

Accompanying Course in Basic Maths

The course uses exercises to cover the content of school maths which forms the basis of the first semester maths lecture. Participation is voluntary, free of charge and possible without registration. At this point in time, the course can only be offered in German.

Info about Adjustment of Name and Gender Entry

Trans*, inter and non-binary OTH Regensburg students can easily have their first name and gender entry adjusted to correspond to their gender identity.
