English Psychosocial Counselling
Coming to a different country for your studies is a huge decision, which brings a lot of changes and challenges with it. Different culture/ language/ people/ health system and also the different academic system – all of these things can be quite overwhelming.
The English Psychosocial Counselling at the OTH Regensburg offers a confidential safe space for you to come and discuss your mental load and all of your stress factors with us. While acknowledging your cultural background, we can help you find your way out of personal crisis, rediscover your personal resources and get connected with other students.
Here are some examples of subjects you can discuss with us:
• Difficulties within your studies, e.g. motivational problems, exam anxiety, mental overload, malfunctioning, etc.
• Personal difficulties, e.g. self-doubt, pressure, feeling isolated, not knowing how to approach others, etc.
• Psychological issues, e.g. any kind of anxiety, self-harming thoughts, addiction, etc.
• And every other subject that gives you stress
What you can expect from the counselling:
- Listening with an open mindset and discussing your issues
- Stabilizing and resource-oriented counselling
- Showing you your opportunities to organise your studies and helping you find the needed application forms within the OTH
- Guiding you throughout the process of finding the for you suiting solutions
- Information about further help services and forwarding
- Mediation between you and your faculty, if needed
The consultants work confidentially. The counselling is free of charge, non-binding and can also be done anonymously. We offer counselling via mail, phone, the Microsoft Teams application or in person in our office and it approximately takes one hour. Making an appointment is necessary.
Psychotherapy at the OTH Regensburg is not possible.
