We address these questions through application-oriented research on key technologies — including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and automation, sensor systems, digital twins, simulation, and safety-critical as well as decision-support systems. We develop and study cyber-physical systems that intelligently link real-world processes with digital models and further refine them in specific contexts.
Our research is inherently interdisciplinary: we combine technological innovation with economic, social, and environmental perspectives. We focus on model-based analyses, data-driven forecasting, adaptive control systems, and their application in real-world environments — for example, in industry, healthcare, and the energy sector. Security, data sovereignty, and ethical considerations are integral components of all our research activities.
