Energy technology cluster
The formation and expansion of cluster structures aim to enhance collaboration among companies, as well as between companies and the academic sector, to foster the development of industry expertise. The key strategy of the energy technology cluster is to further strengthen existing network structures, extending from Bavaria to national and international connections. It's crucial to engage the relevant companies and institutes and to promote awareness and interest in networks and clusters among employees at all management levels.
Competence center for combined heat and power generation
Since 2012, the Competence Center for Combined Heat and Power has been the focal point for research activities conducted by OTH Amberg-Weiden and its partners in the field of combined heat and power (CHP). The research encompasses a wide range of CHP applications, from private households and municipal setups to industrial use. Technologies under investigation include combustion-engine cogeneration plants, fuel cells, Stirling engines, steam processes, and combined systems integrating these technologies. The practical relevance of the research is ensured by implementing the results in scientifically supported demonstration and pilot projects.
