OTH Regensburg opened its doors again on Saturday, 28 June - and struck a chord with the public with its diverse programme: visitors, from young to old, flocked to the campus to take part in exciting experiments, guided tours and laboratory visits. The sunny summer weather also created a cheerful, lively atmosphere.
Shortly after 1 p.m. there was already a lot of activity: Children and families travelled across the OTH lake in a concrete canoe, learned about the magic tricks of physics in experiments and tried their hand at soldering. Interactive stations were also popular, such as the big hands-on quiz about AI or a health check including a self-test in an age suit.
Numerous prospective students took the opportunity to find out about degree programmes, semesters abroad, application procedures and part-time continuing education courses - from technology, business and IT to social sciences and health, architecture and design. There was barely enough room in the rooms for some of the lectures. The new International Electrical Engineering (Bachelor) and Design (Master) courses also attracted a great deal of interest - applications are still open until 15 July.
A varied guided tour and lecture programme offered insights into current research priorities: The programme covered AI and medicine, lightning simulation, emission-free mobility and sustainable construction. Children made creative things at the Family Office, climbed the Ninja Wall or had their faces painted. On stage, a varied programme of interviews, games and music provided the best entertainment.
The culinary mile offered a wide range of culinary delights - from pulled pork and vegan ice cream to regional specialities. Accompanied by discussions with lecturers and staff from the Student Advisory Service, visitors were able to pick up important information at first hand.
OTH Regensburg would like to thank all guests and helpers - and is already looking forward to the next Open University Day.
