Prof. Dr Andreas Maier from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology has successfully completed the Bavarian University Teaching Certificate Programme run by the Bavarian Centre for Innovative Teaching (BayZiel). To this end, Prof. Dr Maier took part in a total of 120 45-minute sessions covering various areas of higher education pedagogy. The professional development programme covers topics such as teaching and learning concepts, presentation and communication, assessment formats, and reflection and evaluation. The aim is to support lecturers in continuously developing their teaching skills and integrating innovative teaching methods into their teaching.
“This certificate highlights Prof. Dr Andreas Maier’s great commitment to contemporary, high-quality teaching. Lecturers who continuously develop their teaching skills make an important contribution to modern, student-centred higher education. I am particularly pleased that 42 members of staff at OTH Regensburg have now obtained this certificate,” said Prof. Dr Birgit Rösel, Vice-President for Studies and Teaching at OTH Regensburg, at the certificate presentation ceremony.
“Taking part in the certificate programme has given me lots of valuable ideas for structuring my courses. The exchange with colleagues from other universities was particularly enriching. My aim is to support students in their learning as effectively as possible and to offer them varied, practice-oriented teaching formats,” said Prof. Dr Andreas Maier.
The extensive range of professional development opportunities offered by Hochschullehre Bayern enables lecturers to continue developing their skills even after obtaining the certificate. An advanced professional level is also available for particularly committed participants.
