New serving counter in the Mechanical Engineering Cafeteria
The Studierendenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz provides hot meals to students at OTH Regensburg via the canteen. According to a statement from the Studierendenwerk, this service is now being expanded with the introduction of a serving counter in the Mechanical Engineering Cafeteria.
In addition to the existing catering options, students and staff will now be offered hot lunch dishes, which were previously available exclusively in the canteen.
The aim is to reduce waiting times in the canteen during peak hours and to provide an alternative for lunch in this part of the campus.
More choice at the evening canteen
The evening canteen, introduced in summer 2025, has been very well received by students and staff. To bring more variety and diversity to the menu, the evening offering is being expanded.
From Monday to Thursday, between 5.00 pm and 7.00 pm, students will in future be able to choose between a special bowl, the special-offer dish of the day and an evening meal at a special student price.
The menu now features hot and cold bowls, various salads and special-offer dishes of the day such as pizzas, schnitzel or burgers. There is something for every dietary preference among the dishes; there is meat and fish, but also vegetarian and vegan options.
With these changes, the Studierendenwerk is responding to students’ needs and ensuring greater variety in the canteen menu.
