University collaboration

Krones.digital supports students: partnership marked on a commemorative plaque

By making an endowment to the Foundation for the Promotion of OTH Regensburg, Krones.digital is further expanding its collaboration with the university.

OTH Regensburg and Krones.digital are united by a common goal: nurturing talent and shaping a digital future. This partnership has recently been marked by a new plaque on the donor stelae on campus.

The new co-donor plaque was unveiled in glorious sunshine. Among those present were Florian Gebhard, Head of People and Communications, and Verena Brunner, responsible for employer branding at Krones.digital. Together, they chose the location for the new plaque on the stele.

For Dr Bernd Waffler, Chairman of the Foundation for the Promotion of OTH Regensburg, the co-donation is an expression of a strong partnership: “When regional sponsors such as Krones.digital get involved, it is about far more than just the financial aspect. It is about trust in the university and the shared conviction that we can only train the skilled workers of tomorrow through close cooperation between academia and industry.”

Chancellor Utto Spielbauer also emphasised the importance of such collaborations: “OTH Regensburg is one of the largest training institutions in the region. This makes partners who not only contribute financially but also actively shape and develop the collaboration all the more valuable.”

At Krones.digital, this commitment is understood precisely in this sense: “For us, OTH Regensburg is a key partner in the region. We want to further strengthen our collaboration, develop new formats together and give students early insights into the practical side of the business,” emphasised Florian Gebhard.

Behind this commitment lies a unique organisational structure: Krones.digital is an international matrix organisation within the Krones Group, in which more than 700 experts from the fields of digitalisation and automation work together. Across national and corporate boundaries, they jointly develop solutions for a digital and sustainable future for the food and beverage industry – openly, collaboratively and with a strong practical focus.

The Foundation for the Promotion of OTH Regensburg has for many years supported, among other things, study abroad programmes for students, international students, and further education and training opportunities. With the endowment from Krones.digital, this commitment is being further expanded.
