The reason was a kick-off meeting in the project ‘Development of magnetoactive elastomer surfaces with controlled wettability for functional manipulation of liquids’ (funding code BTHA-JC-2024-51), which has been funded by the Bavarian-Czech Higher Education Agency BTHA since 1 July 2024.
On the part of OTH Regensburg, Prof. Dr rer. nat. Mikhail Chamonine, Head of the Intelligent Materials and Structures Laboratory of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, is researching this challenging and promising project together with his Czech colleague Prof. Michal Sedlačík, Ph.D., Director of the University Institute of Tomáš Baťa University Zlín.
In addition to the project discussions, the Czech delegation visited several laboratories of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, two laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Medical Products Laboratory (Head: Prof. Dr Thomas Schratzenstaller) and Biofluid Mechanics Laboratory (Head: Prof. Dr Lars Krenkel)) and was given a tour of the clean room by Prof. Dr Corinna Kaulen. The Czech delegation was positively impressed by the technological possibilities and the diversity of research at OTH Regensburg. In an hour-long discussion with the Vice-President of OTH Regensburg, Prof. Dr Oliver Steffens, both cooperating institutions were able to present their profiles and exchange initial ideas on expanding the cooperation. The participants of the kick-off meeting are convinced that there is a high potential for innovation in the required project and that the bilateral cooperation can be extended to other subject areas in the future.
