Whether it was excellent academic achievements, pioneering research work or outstanding social commitment – the awards evening once again demonstrated how much energy and passion there is at OTH Regensburg. In a festive atmosphere, numerous prizes and scholarships were awarded to recognise special achievements. Representatives of various foundations and institutions presented the awards in person, thereby emphasising their appreciation for the students' commitment.
Prof. Dr. Ralph Schneider, President of OTH Regensburg, opened the event and emphasised the importance of motivation and social commitment. Addressing the donors, he said: ‘Thank you very much for your willingness to support our students so generously. Your funds are excellently invested: you are giving young people with great abilities support and opening up opportunities that enable them to pursue new paths and perspectives.’
A wide range of scholarships and awards
The following prizes and scholarships were awarded on the evening of the awards ceremony:
- The Otto Helmut and Alice Eckl Foundation's foreign scholarships, each worth €4,000, went to: Philipp Bauerfeind, Johannes Butz, Carina Deißer, Laura Eglmejer, Laura Füller, Martina Hierl, Amelie Hopfmüller, Eva Inzenhofer, Nele Petersen and Leni Theresia Straßer.
- The Soroptimist International Club Regensburg prize of €1,500 went to Christina Danzer for her thesis entitled ‘Automated Qualification of Electrical Measurements Using Cloud Technologies in BMW AG's Energy Operations’ in the computer science programme.
- This year, the Volksbank Raiffeisenbank Regensburg-Schwandorf eG sponsorship awards went to Theresa Beck, Renate Janker and Sebastian Sattler (scholarships, €1,000 each). The prize for an outstanding thesis (€1,500) went to Franziska Gschwendtner for her work ‘Dispute Management of Price Differences Using the Example of CAT GmbH: Process Analysis and Digital Solutions for Process Support’ in the Business Administration programme.
- Die Christa-Lindner-Stiftung übergab insgesamt 13 Preise für Abschlussarbeiten, die mit jeweils 1.000 Euro dotiert sind, an: Theresa Baurecht, Nils Bringewatt, Philipp Brunner, Anastasiia Durygina, Felicitas Griesshammer, Johannes Hörterer, Stefanie Kisser, Carola Kreitmayr, Karolinus Krümpel, Simone Neumaier, Sophia Tanner, Rebecca Tänzer und Sarah Wiesner.
- Der Biopark-Innovationspreisder BioPark Regensburg GmbH und Patentanwälte PartmbB Dehmel & Bettenhausen verbunden mit einem Preisgeld in Höhe von 1.500 Euro ging an Jessica Kloiber für ihre Publikation zu „High quality surfaces of magnesium alloy AZ31 by adjusting appropriate electropolishing parameters“.
- The Josef Stanglmeier Foundation prizes, each worth €2,500, went to Truong An Dinh (Innovation Prize for her bachelor's thesis in computer science on the topic of ‘Development of simulation software for analysing control strategies for lift groups’) and Paul Deichmann, Carina Deißer, Leon Harlander, Laura Müller and Philipp Rueß Noriega.
- The Foundation for the Promotion of OTH Regensburg awarded Lea Keck the prize worth €1,500 for her bachelor's thesis ‘Anti-Semitism in the Migration Society: Transnational References and Anti-Semitism among People with Turkish Backgrounds’ in the Social Work programme. Paul Koperski received the prize for the best master's thesis (‘Modelling and Characterisation of a Membrane-less Fuel Cell’, Electrical and Microsystems Engineering programme) and thus also €1,500. Dr Lisa Grabinger received €2,000 for her doctoral thesis entitled ‘Data Science in Empirical Eye-Tracking Research’, which was written at the new Applied Computer Science Doctoral Centre.
- In recognition of outstanding academic achievements and intercultural commitment, the DAAD Prize, worth €1,000, was awarded to Ivan Gyokov.
- This year's awards for inspirational figures from the Friends of OTH Regensburg Association and the Catholic Youth Welfare Service of the Diocese of Regensburg, each worth €500, were presented to Laura Knott and Bara'a Mohamad for outstanding achievements in their studies while juggling family responsibilities, and to Emily Feuchtinger, Margot Pfeffer-Halbach and Christian Seiler for outstanding achievements in their studies despite disabilities/chronic illnesses.
A valuable contribution to the region
The diverse support provided by OTH Regensburg and its partners not only contributes to the professional and personal development of the award winners, but also has a positive impact on the region. The close connection between academic education and regional support strengthens both innovative power and social cohesion.
