ARTEMIS

European University Alliance visiting OTH Regensburg

During the week of 7th to 10th April, OTH Regensburg hosted the networking meeting of the European University Alliance ARTEMIS. Numerous partners from eight universities came to Regensburg for exchange and to attend the Europavox final.

In addition to OTH Regensburg, the ARTEMIS alliance includes Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA) from Clermont-Ferrand, France, which coordinates the project, Hogeschool VIVES Zuid from Kortrijk, Belgium, Høgskulen på Vestlandet (HVL) from Bergen, Norway, Tallinna Tehnikakõrgkool (TTK) from Tallinn, Estonia, Universitatea „Ovidius” din Constanța from Romania, the University of Ioannina from Greece, and Università degli Studi di Perugia from Italy. The aim of ARTEMIS is to establish a European university with a focus on sustainability and mobility.

OTH Regensburg organised a diverse programme. At the opening event in the historic Imperial Hall (Reichssaal), guests were welcomed by, among others, the Mayor of Regensburg, Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer, OTH Vice President Prof Dr Birgit Rösel, and UCA Vice President Prof Dr Marie-Elisabeth Baudoin. Afterwards, ARTEMIS and Europavox participants presented a musical collaboration project on the iconic Stone Bridge.

Wednesday centred around the Europavox final – a musical competition featuring contributions from students in Regensburg, France, Norway, Lithuania, and Romania. Over 200 guests filled the venue Leerer Beutel with excitement. The Europavox Campus is a project within ARTEMIS and took place for the third time this year.

On Thursday, participants gained insights into Regensburg as a hub of innovation – with guided tours of TechBase, the OTH technology campus in Neustadt an der Donau, and the OTH Regensburg Start-up Lab. There, they experienced first-hand how entrepreneurial ideas are supported through modern infrastructure, coaching, and networking. Entrepreneurship is also increasingly promoted in the ARTEMIS partner countries. The alliance thus strengthens knowledge transfer across Europe and supports Europe's position as a centre for technology and research.
