Professor Sabine Jaritz of the Faculty of Business and Management, who also chairs the Senate of OTH Regensburg, has been appointed to the twelve-member International Advisory Board of the Business School at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) in China. The board brings together experts from academia, industry and other institutions to advise on the strategic development of the Business School and to strengthen international exchange.
The board held its inaugural meeting at SZTU in Shenzhen on 20 September 2026, the first day of the International Week, which ran until 24 September. In total, five professors from OTH Regensburg attended the International Week: alongside Professor Jaritz, these were Professors Nina Leffers and Eva Schuckmann from the Faculty of Business and Management, Professor Georgios Raptis from the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, and Professor Thomas Fuhrmann from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The fact that academics from three faculties took part reflects the broad disciplinary scope of the partnership.
OTH Regensburg and SZTU have been linked by a partnership that has grown steadily since 2016. Among other things, it encompasses student exchange, joint research activities and a double degree programme in International Business Management at Bachelor’s level, launched in 2024. Under the programme, OTH Regensburg students spend part of their studies at SZTU and are awarded a degree from the partner university in addition to their OTH degree. Conversely, students at the SZTU Business School can use the programme to obtain a double degree with OTH Regensburg.
Participants are selected jointly by both universities: this year, Professor Sabine Jaritz and Professor Holger Haldenwang, former Vice President of OTH Regensburg and founding dean of the SZTU Business School, conducted selection interviews with applicants from the SZTU Business School. The successful candidates will join OTH Regensburg for the 2027 summer semester, where, like other international students, they will mainly attend courses taught in English.
The appointment to the International Advisory Board provides a further opportunity to deepen this collaboration. For Professor Jaritz, the emphasis is above all on mutual exchange: ‘International university partnerships thrive on people sharing their experiences, bringing together different perspectives and learning from one another. I look forward to supporting the continued development of the SZTU Business School as a member of the International Advisory Board, while also further strengthening the ties between our two universities.’
