At the beginning of August, a group of international students was full of anticipation: They had the opportunity to gain practical insights from exciting employers in the region!
As part of the project OTH BRIDGE*, international students of the OTH Regensburg visited the company invenio GmbH at the beginning of August together with students from the University of Regensburg. Invenio GmbH, a leading engineering and technology partner, also based in Barbing, presented itself as a medium-sized company offering various career entry opportunities in the STEM-field. The company provides additional support to young professionals through a mentoring programme, in which experienced employees provide advice to new employees, thus making it easier for them to settle into the company. Jürgen Schiller, head of the Regensburg location, emphasises the family atmosphere: “For us, the individual is what counts. No matter where they come from!”
At the end of August, another company visit took place at Innok Robotics GmbH in Regenstauf. Innok Robotics GmbH, a technology leader in autonomous, outdoor-capable robots, conducts its development and production on site in Regenstauf. After a company presentation, the students had the opportunity to gain insights into the manufacturing process during a tour of the company, including a robot demonstration. There was a lively exchange of ideas: in addition to technical questions about the robots, the discussion focused on the various opportunities for joining the company. Management assistant Theresa Zirkelbach promoted the young and dynamic team, which encourages potential, enables employees to take on responsibility, and offers creative freedom.
The OTH Regensburg and the international students are very grateful to both companies for the exciting insights into their working environment.
Special thanks also go to the Economic Development Manager of the Regensburg district Roland Weiß, who made these visits possible.
The company visits are part of an initiative to connect international graduates from the two universities of Regensburg with employers in the region, with the aim of opening up future prospects for the graduates to stay in the region while also counteracting the shortage of skilled workers.
As part of the OTH BRIDGE project, further company visits are planned to offer international students a wide range of insights into the regional working environment. Companies that are interested in presenting their company and career opportunities to international talents are welcome to contact the OTH BRIDGE project team at othbridge(at)oth-regensburg.de.
