On 14 April 2026, alumni and friends visited AUMOVIO Germany GmbH as part of the alumni get-together. The guests were welcomed by Bettina Knoller, Head of HR Location and an alumna of OTH Regensburg.
She began by giving an engaging overview of the Regensburg site and the strategic direction of AUMOVIO, which has been operating as an independent company on the market since the spin-off of the former Continental Automotive division in September 2025.
“The vision and mission of the Regensburg plant is to develop electronics for a better future,” said Knoller. Appreciation, identification and respect are the central aspects of AUMOVIO Regensburg’s culture and are expressed through the slogan “W/I/R in Regensburg”. “Alongside the many other challenges presented by the global market, the biggest challenge here in Regensburg is to build awareness of AUMOVIO,” explained Bettina Knoller. Close cooperation with universities and local networks plays a crucial role in this.
A look behind the scenes
Karlheinz Vogl, Head of Industrial Engineering at the Regensburg plant, gave alumni and friends of OTH Regensburg an insight into the manufacturing process. AUMOVIO Regensburg produces around 146 million electronic units per year working a 21-shift model.
The subsequent tour of the production facilities was particularly impressive, with Karlheinz Vogl and Markus Kicker, Head of Focus Factory 1, providing insights into digitally controlled production processes and technical innovations.
A light refreshment reception afterwards provided an opportunity for personal conversations, professional exchanges and networking. The successful evening once again demonstrated how valuable direct dialogue between alumni, the university and regional companies is.
