- 1998 – present: self-employed as an architect in Nuremberg and Regensburg; partner at johannsraum Architekten
- Project manager for tendering procedures and design competitions
Academic career
- 1999–2009 Lectureships at, amongst others, Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences and Leipzig University of Applied Sciences
- Since 2011, Professor of Design and Construction at OTH Regensburg
Professional involvement in voluntary work
- Between 1999 and 2013, he was a member of various architectural advisory boards, including those in Fürth (Bavaria), Coburg, Erlangen and Augsburg
- 2002–2023: Member of the Bavarian Association of German Architects (BDA), where his roles included Chair of the Nuremberg District Association, Member of the Bavarian Regional Executive Committee, Acting Chair of the Bavarian Regional Association, Member of the Federal Executive Committee and Member of the Presidium
- 2003–2011: Member of the Upper/Middle Franconia District Competition Committee of the BYAK
- 2011–2016 Member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects
