OTH Regensburg students design exhibition

The students of the “Historical Building Research” course at OTH Regensburg are presenting the exhibition “Beyond the Steps” from May 14, 2025 to May 24, 2025. The exhibition venue is the cultural space Vor der Grieb.

The project is dedicated to researching five hidden staircases that are not accessible to the public from a historical and architectural research perspective. Who used these staircases? What types of stairs are there? What does the material feel like? Why are these staircases so important if they are not normally accessible to the public? These are all questions that are addressed in the exhibition.

The concept of the exhibition also aims to make it an inclusive experience for everyone. This means that people who are dependent on a wheelchair and people with a visual impairment can experience and feel it for themselves. In addition to photos and posters, the stairs will be provided as tactile models.

The opening will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 7 pm. The exhibition is open during opening hours from 9 am to 5 pm. For any deviations, visitors are asked to inform themselves on the Instagram channel “ueber_die_stufen_hinaus”. Admission is free of charge.

The exhibition was sponsored by the Regensburg Cultural Foundation REWAG and the Volksbank Regensburg Community Foundation.
