OTH Regensburg has joined the alliance ‘Together Against Sexism’. With this step, we want to send a clear signal and actively promote a respectful, inclusive and discrimination-free teaching, learning and working environment.
Sexism refers to discrimination, disadvantage or prejudice against people on the basis of their gender. It can take various forms, such as derogatory comments, unfair treatment or ignoring equality. Sexism affects both women and men, but can particularly disadvantage women in education, work and everyday life. Sexism is not just a question of personal attitude, but has profound social implications. It prevents equal opportunities, promotes inequalities and can impair the well-being and self-determination of those affected.
By taking a stand against sexism, we create an environment in which all people feel respected and valued. This not only strengthens the sense of community, but also promotes an open, diverse and fair university. The aim is to raise awareness of equality, support those affected and promote preventive measures. As a university, we see it as our responsibility to promote a culture of respect and appreciation.
