OTH Regensburg shines with strong results in the CHE University Ranking 2025

The degree courses in mechanical engineering are ranked first in Bavaria and are also top in the national evaluation. Students in the Faculty of Architecture also awarded top marks.

OTH Regensburg has once again achieved impressive results in the latest university ranking by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE). Courses in the faculties of Architecture and Mechanical Engineering were rated particularly positively. The university is also among the top group in the fields of civil engineering, energy technology, electrical engineering and information technology as well as mechatronics.

The CHE University Ranking is published in the ZEIT Study Guide 2025/26 and online on HeyStudium. It is based on a combination of student opinions and objective facts about studies, teaching, facilities, internationality and practical relevance. The general study situation is presented using a five-star scale, with five stars being the optimum. With around 120,000 students surveyed, the CHE ranking is the most comprehensive university comparison in the German-speaking world. Eleven degree courses from six faculties were analyzed for OTH Regensburg in 2025.

Mechanical Engineering in first place in Bavaria

The Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Production and Automation Engineering Bachelor's degree courses at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering came first in a comparison with Bavarian universities. Students rate the organization of studies (4.5 out of 5 stars), the general study situation (4.4), support during studies (4.4), IT equipment (4.4), digital teaching elements (4.2) and career guidance offers (4.4) particularly highly. “Providing young people with high-quality, up-to-date training is very important to us.
