The new degree programme is primarily aimed at international applicants - but is also open to German native speakers who want to complete a traditional engineering degree in a global context and at the same time acquire intercultural skills and additional language skills.
‘We live in a world characterised by international cooperation - and that's exactly what we prepare our students for,’ explains Professor Dr Johannes Reschke, Head of the degree programme. "The International Electrical Engineering degree programme is much more than a traditional engineering course. It imparts technical knowledge at the highest level and at the same time opens up spaces for intercultural exchange, language acquisition and global networks. This combination is invaluable in the modern professional world."
Technical excellence meets cultural diversity
During their studies, students acquire comprehensive skills in electrical engineering and information technology - from the development of electrical devices to modern communication and software technology. Practicals, laboratory exercises and practice-orientated courses in 33 modern, well-equipped laboratories guarantee a sound education with a strong focus on application.
A special feature of the degree programme is the individual focus. A wide range of elective modules allows students to deepen their personal interests and prepare themselves specifically for certain professional fields. A language module is also an integral part of the curriculum - be it to learn German or another foreign language.
A degree programme with vision and a future
The international focus not only prepares graduates for a career in Germany, but also for a wide range of career prospects worldwide. Electrical engineers are in demand across all sectors - in the energy and automation industry, automotive engineering, medical technology and the communications industry. The new degree programme also sharpens students' intercultural profile, making them sought-after specialists in an international context.
‘With this degree programme, we are creating an attractive offer for young people from all over the world who are enthusiastic about technology,’ emphasises Professor Dr Rainer Holmer, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. ‘The study concept combines our technically excellent education with a consistently international approach - this is a unique selling point that fits perfectly with the strategic orientation of our faculty and OTH Regensburg.’
