New ORCa logo hoisted for the first time in Kelheim - a visible sign of innovation and networking

The new logo of the Open Regional Campus (ORCa) was presented to the public for the first time today with the ceremonial hoisting of a flag in front of the Kelheim District Office.

In the presence of District Administrator Martin Neumeyer and other project participants, the network is now also visible in public space - as a symbol of the close connection between science, business and society in the district.

In addition to District Administrator Martin Neumeyer, the event was also attended by the transfer manager of the Open Regional Campus (ORCa), Dr Moritz Bauer, project employee Annalena Böck and the district's economic officer, Sandra Schneider.

The new look not only gives the ORCa a modern face, but also increases its presence in the region. The flag in front of the district administration office symbolises what ORCa is all about: openness, networking and the common goal of promoting innovation locally.

The Open Regional Campus is a joint initiative of the district of Kelheim and OTH Regensburg. As an open-topic platform, ORCa specifically promotes the transfer of knowledge and technology and brings companies together with scientific expertise. The aim is to develop practical solutions, initiate innovations and sustainably strengthen the region's competitiveness.

District Administrator Martin Neumeyer, one of the founders of the project, emphasised the importance of the network for the region:
"ORCa gives us the opportunity to intensify and further develop business development for regional companies in a targeted manner. The close cooperation with the OTH Regensburg is a decisive success factor here: "By bringing together science and practice, we create direct access to knowledge, innovation and talent - and thus sustainably strengthen the future viability of our district."

Neumeyer is regarded as one of the key driving forces behind the creation of the Open Regional Campus, which was officially launched in 2024 and has been growing ever since. The project sees itself as a model campus that facilitates access to research, talent and innovative technologies for companies from all sectors, thus opening up new development potential.

Today's flag-raising ceremony therefore marks much more than just the presentation of a new logo: it symbolises the increasing visibility and importance of ORCa in the district of Kelheim. At the same time, it emphasises the ambition to further intensify the exchange between the university, companies and society and to work together on solutions for the challenges of the future.

With ORCa, innovation in Kelheim is not only conceived - it is made visible.
