Targeted AI: New functionalities for intelligent communication agents and analysis tools

As part of his doctorate at OTH Regensburg, Daniel Konadl further developed existing AI approaches in order to fulfil key requirements for intelligent communication agents and analysis tools.

1. you have completed your doctorate - what does that mean for you personally?

For me, completing my doctorate means realising that you not only have to consider the theory, but also the practical application of the findings. This also made me consider becoming a HAW professor.

2 What is your dissertation about?

AI approaches and generative AI are not goal-oriented unless they fulfil application-specific requirements. However, existing applications and software tools in different domains do not fully fulfil these requirements. Therefore, existing AI approaches were evaluated and various functionalities were added to them in a targeted manner in order to fulfil central requirements in the areas of intelligent communication agents and analysis tools.

3. what was a highlight or special experience in connection with your doctorate?

The highlight of my doctorate was the acceptance of my sole publication at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Bangkok.

4. what plans do you have for your professional future?

My plan is actually to combine research and practice in order to aim for a HAW professorship.

5. what tips can you give to future doctoral candidates?

You should never give up, even if it's not always easy to juggle research and everything else. In the end, it's worth savouring the moment and having successfully completed your doctorate.

6 Why did you choose OTH Regensburg for your doctorate?

Because of the opportunities offered by the joint doctoral programme with the BayWISS College.
