What can funding be used for?

Depending on the requirements of the degree programme, funding is provided for e.g. books, software or computers. The necessity must be confirmed by the responsible professor or lecture.

For doctoral students, printing costs for dissertations are also funded.

e.g. printing costs (except for dissertations), printers, smartphones

What are the requirements?

  • studying at least in the 2nd semester Bachelor, Master or doctorate at a Bavarian university
  • not in a holiday term at the time of application
  • you must be in need
  • you have not yet received the Oskar Karl Forster Scholarship (only possible once during your Bachelor's, Master's or doctoral studies)

Note: The Oskar-Karl-Forster scholarship is awarded irrespective of religious affiliation and nationality.

Proof of income

1. students living with parent(s):

  • BAföG- notice 

OR:

  • own salary slips or bank statements for at least three consecutive months
  • proof of scholarships/social aid/support from family or friends (e.g. by bank statements)
  • supporting documents from parents (income tax return for the year before the last year before your application: 2021)
  • if applicable, salary slips of at least three consecutive months of siblings and/or other persons living in the household and showing earnings
  • if applicable, proof of alimony/child support for self and/or own child
     

2. students with own place of residence: 

  • BAföG- notice 

OR:

  • own salary slips or bank statements for at least three consecutive months
  • proof of scholarships/social aid/support from family or friends (e.g. bank statements)
  • evidence of alimony/child support for self and/or own child, if applicable 
  • if applicable, proof of spouse, if living in the same household

How does the application process work?

  • applications are submitted by e-mail during the application period
  • if the application is complete, you will receive written feedback after the application deadline as to whether and how much of the requested amount you will receive
  • you purchase the learning materials noted in the application and submit the invoice to us (invoice must be made out to applicant*); earliest invoice date: 15 March 2024 at the earliest
  • after submitting the invoices you will receive the amount by transfer to your account
