On 17 and 18 May 2025, Tirschenreuth became the centre of the region: Oberpfalztag 2025 attracted numerous visitors to the district town with a colourful mix of culture, culinary delights and innovative hands-on activities. OTH Regensburg was also prominently represented with several faculties, the Formula Student Team Dynamics and the Student Advisory Service.
Under the motto "We. Celebrate. Oberpfalz.", the two-day festival offered exciting insights into the future topics of the region. At the Mile of Science, the Faculty of Civil Engineering showed how digitalisation, robotics and AI are changing the construction industry. The digital circular walk impressively demonstrated how drones and networked robots autonomously recognise, transport and process components.
The Faculty of Social and Health Sciences presented two interactive formats: Visitors were able to experience what it feels like to grow older by wearing an age suit, while a first aid test refreshed life-saving knowledge in a fun way. Discussions on social identity issues also provided food for thought - a topic that could not be more topical.
In addition to the scientific offerings, the Student Lifecycle Centre provided comprehensive information about study opportunities, financing and balancing studies and family life.
A real highlight for technology fans was the stand of the Formula Student Team Dynamics. Here, visitors were able to experience modern racing technology up close - including the driving experience on the virtual racing simulator.
The festival weekend was accompanied by a varied stage programme, culinary delights and a wide range of hands-on activities.
