Afterworkseminar “Behind the scenes of ChatGPT & Co.” | May 23, 2025

The Afterworkseminar on Friday, May 23, 2025, on the university campus will conclude the Continuing Education Info Week. Under the motto “Knowledge in the Evening”, interested parties are invited to get brief and compact information and exchange ideas on a current topic after work.

This year's afterworkseminar is entitled “Behind the scenes of ChatGPT & Co.”. This is a topical issue that is currently occupying many people - whether in a professional or private context.

Language models (LMs), which calculate the probabilities of word sequences, have been around for a long time. They are now so precise that they form a solid foundation for chatbots. Prof. Dr. Timo Baumann, OTH Regensburg, explains how these LMs actually work in his keynote speech “Modern chatbots demystified”. Dr. Manuel Kirschner, BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, will then provide a practical report on the current status of the use of so-called GenerativeAI at BSH and then show participants very clearly how chatbot interfaces similar to ChatGPT can be developed using the free software Langflow.

After the presentations, there will be an opportunity for constructive discussions and to expand and consolidate personal and professional networks over a light snack. Participation is free of charge. Registration is required.
