Female Empowerment

Review of the first female entrepreneurs' breakfast

At the first female entrepreneurs' breakfast at the Regensburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, female founders, entrepreneurs and students came together to network, find inspiration and learn from each other.

Early in the morning, around 45 female founders, entrepreneurs and students gathered at the Regensburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the first female entrepreneurs' breakfast under the motto ‘Strong. Female. Networked.’ The aim of the event was to create space for inspiration, exchange and new contacts. The female entrepreneurs' breakfast was organised in cooperation between the Regensburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Upper Palatinate/Kelheim and OTH Regensburg.

Keynote speech on the Female Founders Programme

Prof. Dr. Sevim Süzeroğlu-Melchiors from OTH Regensburg kicked off the event with a keynote speech on the Female Founders Programme, which provides targeted support and guidance to aspiring female founders at the university for one year.

Prof. Dr. Sevim Süzeroğlu-Melchiors, head of the Female Founders Programme, emphasised:

‘With the Female Founders Programme, we at OTH Regensburg offer structured and targeted support to accompany female founders on their journey and strengthen their network in the long term.’

The stage is set for female founders

Magdalena Schwarzwald (plan b. Bestattungen), Dr. Nina Sindersberger and Rosie Musoni then presented their individual start-up stories. While Magdalena Schwarzwald showed how a sensitive topic can be creatively rethought, Dr. Nina Sindersberger and Rosie Musoni, as participants in the Female Founders Programme, reported on their projects and the support they received from their mentors.

Intensive exchange during speed networking

During the subsequent speed networking session, the participants discussed key issues relating to self-employment and entrepreneurship at various themed tables – such as work-life integration, visibility as a female entrepreneur and the most important lessons learned on their way to founding a company. The intensive discussions highlighted how valuable open exchange and mutual support are for female founders.
