OTH Regensburg, the University of Regensburg (UR) and the Regensburg University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education (HfKM) presented their comprehensive range of courses at the Regensburg University Day 2026. Numerous school pupils took the opportunity to find out about course content, application procedures and career prospects, get to know the campus and talk to students, lecturers and staff.
A new highlight in this year's programme was an inter-university scavenger hunt: prospective students collected stamps at various information stands and were able to secure surprise packages for studying in Regensburg. In a playful way, they got to know the diversity of the programmes and facilities on offer.

Prof. Dr. Carina Braun, Vice President for Appointments and Student Lifecycle Management at OTH Regensburg, welcomed guests via video message and emphasised the university's particular strengths: "OTH Regensburg offers a wide range of courses from technology, architecture and design to economics, social sciences and health sciences. The type of study is particularly distinctive: the courses are practical and application-oriented, providing early insights into professional fields of application. The Regensburg University Day offers an ideal opportunity to experience these study conditions live – through lectures, guided tours, open workshops and laboratories, and personal exchanges with students, lecturers and staff."
Ask questions and strike up a conversation
Visitors were able to see this for themselves on site. In addition to campus, library and laboratory tours, representatives from the faculties and departments of all three universities were available at numerous stands to answer individual questions. In addition, service and advisory centres provided information on topics such as student financing, scholarships, stays abroad, dual studies and studying with disabilities.
Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Korber, Vice President for Studies, Teaching and Continuing Education at UR, was delighted that so many prospective students once again took the opportunity to experience the campus and talk to lecturers and students in person: "As a comprehensive university, the University of Regensburg offers a wide range of courses. These include both career-oriented courses such as medicine, law, teaching and pharmacy, as well as traditional academic disciplines such as mathematics, philosophy and economics. The range of courses is complemented by interdisciplinary combination courses that are specifically tailored to a wide range of academic and professional requirements. For the first time this year, students were also able to find out about the Medical Campus Lower Bavaria and the supplementary course in sustainability. At the Regensburg University Day, visitors had the opportunity to discover this diversity directly on campus and receive individual advice on their choice of study programme."
The Regensburg University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education also drew a positive conclusion. Prof. Franz Josef Stoiber, Rector of the HfKM Regensburg, was delighted with the lively interest shown at the Regensburg University Day: ‘The Regensburg University Day has developed into a well-established institution: in discussions with interested school pupils, it quickly becomes clear where there is a need for information and what concerns young people when considering their choice of study programme.’
Wide range of digital offerings at the Regensburg University Day
In addition to the three Regensburg universities, other partners were also represented again this year, including OTH Amberg-Weiden and the Studentenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz. In addition to the on-site offerings, prospective students were also able to obtain information digitally and access content online.
