Prof. Dr. Markus Bresinsky among the Professors of the Year

The UNICUM Foundation honoured the professor at OTH Regensburg for his outstanding commitment to teaching.

Prof. Dr. Markus Bresinsky, Professor of International Politics and Social Sciences, was awarded third place in the category of Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies in the prestigious ‘Professor of the Year 2025’ competition organised by the UNICUM Foundation.

The award recognises university lecturers who prepare students for their career entry in a special way, promote practical teaching and act as committed mentors. This year, the foundation received around 5,000 nominations from students, university staff and employers. A five-member jury headed by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Radtke, former Vice-President of the German Rectors' Conference, selected the winners.

‘I am delighted to receive this recognition from an external jury and will use this accolade as motivation to continue giving my best for the students and OTH Regensburg,’ said Prof. Dr. Markus Bresinsky, who has been teaching at the Faculty of Applied Natural and Cultural Sciences at OTH Regensburg since September 2010.

Prof. Dr. Ralph Schneider, President of OTH Regensburg, offered his heartfelt congratulations: ‘This award shows the passion and commitment with which Professor Bresinsky approaches his teaching. It is also recognition of the high standard of teaching at OTH Regensburg and the close connection to our students.’

The ‘Professor of the Year’ competition has been organised by the UNICUM Foundation in four categories since 2006 and is one of the most prestigious awards for university lecturers in Germany.
