Study programme with a focus on European ideas

OTH Regensburg featured in the Regensburg Almanac 2025

An article in the current Regensburg Almanac 2025 highlights the development of the International Business Management degree programme (formerly European Business Studies) at OTH Regensburg – and shows how European cooperation has been a living practice for decades.

The current Regensburg Almanac 2025 features an article on the International Business Management degree programme (formerly European Business Studies – EBS). The author is EBS alumnus Wolfgang Voigt, project coordinator at the Start-up Centre at OTH Regensburg.

Under the title "Committed to the European idea: When borders no longer matter," Voigt highlights the development of the EBS degree programme and emphasises its special focus: the consistent anchoring of the European idea in studies, teaching and international cooperation. The article traces the origins and development of the degree programme and shows how cross-border education, intercultural exchange and European partnerships have been central components of the concept for decades.

The article was published as part of the thematic focus ‘80 years since the end of the war. 80 years of peace. 80 years of remembrance’, to which the Regensburg Almanac 2025 is dedicated. The article thus fits into the overarching question of how peace, understanding and European cooperation can be lived and shaped today. The publication is aimed at all citizens who are interested in local history, cultural development and social discussions. ‘With the Regensburg Almanac, we not only want to commemorate past events, but also ask how peace and mutual understanding can be lived today,’ says editor Carola Kupfer.

The Regensburg Almanac 2025 is available in local bookshops and online. Further information and a reading sample are available from Battenberg Bayerland Verlag
