Supported by OTH Regensburg, the Markgraf construction company is breaking new ground and is one of the first construction companies in Europe to use autonomous transport robots. This step marks another milestone in the automation and digitalisation of the medium-sized construction company, which has its roots in the Upper Palatinate. This is also an important signal for the entire construction industry, which is increasingly relying on automation and digitalisation. A further Markgraf site is currently being built on a 65,000 m² site in Kemnath with a new logistics and mobility centre as well as a training and education centre - and OTH Regensburg is providing strategic and scientific support in the implementation of the automated transport system with the team from the Laboratory for Automation and Robotics in Construction headed by Prof. Dr Thomas Linner.
The new Markgraf site will be equipped with a consistently advanced autonomous transport system (INDUROS), which will efficiently link the various hall and outdoor areas of the site and further increase productivity in day-to-day operations.
The expertise and experience of the laboratory team in the field of building automation and construction robotics has led to the joint development of this innovative solution suitable for everyday use together with Innok Robotics and Markgraf. The laboratory is located in the newly established Building Lab at OTH Regensburg, which has set itself the task of developing new digital solutions with a practical focus.
