ADKI project receives award for innovation and quality in teaching
A special highlight of the event was the presentation of this year's award winners: Prof. Dr. Titus Dose and Prof. Dr. Stephan Scheele were honoured for their joint project ‘ADKI – AI-based learning assistance in basic algorithmic education’. Their innovative approach shows how AI-supported systems can support students in their individual learning processes in STEM subjects while at the same time reducing the workload for teachers in their day-to-day supervision. During the event, the award winners gave an impressive presentation of how ADKI is already helping to make complex content accessible in a practical and understandable way.
The Vice-President for Studies and Teaching, Prof. Dr Birgit Rösel, praised the commitment of the award winners and emphasised the importance of such projects for the future-oriented development of university teaching at OTH Regensburg.
Impulses for international and intercultural teaching settings
In his lecture ‘How international teaching can succeed in the lecture hall’, Prof. Dr. Markus Westner used concrete examples to show how international students can be actively involved in the learning process through targeted didactic and communicative strategies. Prof. Dr. Martina Ortner then provided insights into her English-language teaching approach in social work. Under the title ‘Migration in international discourse’, she explained how multilingualism and international perspectives contribute to a deeper professional and intercultural debate – and at the same time bring new challenges.
Exchange, networking and inspiration
With the Innovative Teaching@OTH Regensburg series, the Teaching and Didactics Service Centre regularly provides a platform for showcasing innovative teaching concepts, promoting exchange between teachers and providing impetus for the further development of university teaching.
