Successful start to part-time degree programmes in the 2025/2026 winter semester

OTH Regensburg welcomed around 80 new students to its part-time bachelor's and master's degree programmes for the 2025/2026 winter semester. For the first time, students from the new part-time bachelor's degree programme in Evidence-Based Practice Nursing were also among them.

Start of part-time master's programmes

On 15 September 2025, under late summer sunshine, the part-time master's programme in ‘Leadership and Communication Management’ began at OTH Regensburg. A total of 14 committed students have opted for this innovative programme, which combines leadership skills and communication skills in a practical way. The programme is aimed at professionals from various industries who want to develop their leadership skills in a targeted manner. In the coming semesters, participants can expect an interdisciplinary curriculum with a focus on strategic communication, organisational development and modern leadership behaviour.

Just a few days later, on 19 September 2025, the starting signal was given for the part-time Master's programme in Business Administration (MBA). Nineteen motivated students are participating in the two-year programme, which imparts practical management know-how and specifically prepares them for leadership roles. The MBA is characterised by a modern and flexible learning structure: The combination of online teaching and regular attendance phases allows for an optimal balance between work, study and private life. A special highlight: in future, the programme will also be open to graduates of economics courses. This expands the target group and offers even more professionals the opportunity to further their academic development and improve their career opportunities in management.

Special feature of the part-time Bachelor's degree in Business Administration

Six career changers were able to enrol in the part-time Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, which has been running since the summer semester, thanks to their prior qualifications, such as ‘IHK Business Administrator’ or ‘IHK Business Economist’. They can now complete their studies in just six semesters. What makes us particularly happy and speaks for the programme is that one career changer started the Bachelor's programme in Business Administration on the recommendation of a work colleague, where he happened to meet another colleague who had also started studying with us on the recommendation of the same colleague!

Starting signal for 13 new students in the part-time Bachelor's programme in Social Work

On 29 September 2025, 13 students enrolled in the part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Social Work at OTH Regensburg. Thanks to their prior qualifications, all of them were able to start in the third semester. On their first day, they were welcomed by the programme director and received an introduction to online teaching, among other things – a special feature of the decentralised programme with various learning locations.

Start of studies for part-time bachelor's programmes in the health sector

On 1 and 2 October 2025, two comprehensive introductory days took place on campus. The students spent the first day with the programme director, Prof. Dr. Annette Meussling-Sentpali. The participants wrote ‘letters to themselves’ which they will receive again at the end of their studies – a kind of ‘time capsule’ that will allow them to look back on their time at university. On the second day, they were given an introduction to the organisation and IT, as well as a tour of the campus and library. A visit to the canteen was also on the timetable.

With 17 students, the part-time bachelor's degree programme in nursing management was able to start its 10th cycle in the autumn. On 10 October 2025, an anniversary celebration was held at OTH Regensburg – it was like a big ‘class reunion’ for former students, but also for long-standing companions (teachers, representatives from the field, employees, etc.).

The part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Evidence-Based Practice Nursing (B.Sc.) started for the first time in the 2025/2026 winter semester with eight students at OTH Regensburg. The programme is aimed at experienced nursing professionals who, in addition to their sound practical experience, also have advanced professional training (DKG). By crediting existing vocational training and further education, they can complete their studies in just six semesters. During their studies, students acquire sound knowledge of nursing science. They are enabled to analyse complex nursing issues on the basis of current scientific evidence and contribute to the sustainable improvement of the quality of care.

OTH Regensburg and the Centre for Continuing Education and Knowledge Management (ZWW) are delighted that the new students have successfully started their studies and wish them all an inspiring and informative time at university.
