The collaboration brings together higher education and professional sport. The focus is on joint projects in the areas of research, communication, events and networks. OTH Regensburg will act as the ‘Official University Partner of Eisbären Regensburg’ in future, while Eisbären will be the ‘Official Cooperation Partner of OTH Regensburg’.
The cooperation includes the following key areas, among others: Research and practice will be closely linked. Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as studies and projects related to professional and junior ice hockey will be planned and implemented jointly. Students will benefit from competitions, ticket promotions, job offers and events that promote exchange between sport and study. Both parties will present each other on their digital channels, social networks and at events in order to create joint visibility. Eisbären players gain access to information about degree programmes and further education opportunities at OTH Regensburg.
Peter Holmgren, Managing Director of Eisbären Regensburg, explains: "The Eisbären stand for movement on the ice. OTH Regensburg stands for movement in the mind. The agreement is initially valid until the end of 2027. Both sides are aiming for long-term cooperation that will be continuously developed.
