The dual study program at OTH Regensburg
The Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg offers a comprehensive dual study program with hochschule dual, the umbrella brand for dual studies at universities of applied sciences in Bavaria, and in cooperation with numerous companies, authorities and institutions.
Dual study options
The offer includes
- Degree programs that can be studied at with increased practical components. These are the Bachelor's degree courses in speech therapy and physiotherapy, which integrate training, as well as the Bachelor's degree courses in midwifery and nursing, which provide primary qualifications. The dual degree course in Social Work with integrated practice is also a special model. You can find more information about these options on the Faculty of Applied Social and Health Sciences website.
- We also offer degree programs that can be studied on a dual basis . Two models are possible here: academic study combined with vocational training and academic study with intensive in-company training, which is offered in Bachelor's degree courses, but also in Master's degree courses. The so-called SPE model is a special form of combined study in cooperation with selected companies.

Combination of university studies and vocational training in the company
Two degrees: Bachelor's degree & final examination in the training occupation (IHK, HWK, ...)
Duration: approx. 4.5 years
Practice units: up to 30 months of practical experience

Combination of university studies and intensive practical work in the company
Degree: Bachelor's degree
Duration: approx. 3.5 years
Practice units: at least 50% more practical experience than non-dual students
Note: Entry is usually possible by the end of the lecture period of the 4th semester at the latest.

What do I need to consider?
In many of our degree programs, prospective students can choose between the dual models mentioned above; up to a certain point in their studies, they can opt for the SmvP model.
