The study relationship at the university ends with the termination of enrollment. A distinction is made between termination upon application by the student and termination ex officio. The latter takes place with a (written) decision by the university for the following reasons:

• issue of diplomas for successfully completing Bachelor´s or Master´s examinations
• final failure to pass a Bachelor´s or Masters´s examination
• failure to undergo a compulsory medical examination
• subsequent occurrence of an enrollment obstacle
• occurrence of academic shortcomings during the study period
• failure to re-register for further study
