The following details are valid for basic Bachelor courses!
The international applicant quota only covers non-German or stateless applicants who are not nationals of an European economic area Member State and who have not obtained their university entrance qualification in Germany or at a German school abroad. In terms of entrance requirements, no distinction is made between European economic area nationals and Germans.
5 % of places are reserved for international applicants. Applicants are selected according to their level of qualification, waiting times are not credited. Applications for recognition of hardship cases cannot be considered.
1. Recognition of your foreign educational qualifications
All applicants who have obtained their educational qualifications (certificates, diplomas etc.) outside Germany must have them recognised by the Certificate Recognition Office. You will also need to apply for the award of an average grade!
A copy of this recognition together with the name of the course and your application reference must reach us for a winter semester no later than 31.07., for a summer semester no later than 31.01.. Please submit the recognition document only – foreign educational qualifications are not required.
Your application for admission must also reach us not later than application period.

2. Direct entry to higher education
If your educational qualifications entitle you to direct entry to higher education, you must attach one of the following German proficiency examinations to your application or bring it with you when you enrol. Suitable courses and exams you can prove, for example, here:

OTH Regensburg does not offer any German courses of its own. Suitable courses in Regensburg can be attended for example here:
- Volkshochschule Regensburg (TestDaF)
- Universität Regensburg (DSH, TestDaF)
Applicants who are interested in studying at OTH Regensburg have to apply at the International Office of OTH Regensburg for the preparatory German language courses at Uni Regensburg.
3. Entry by assessment examination
If your qualifications do not entitle you to direct entry to OTH Regensburg, your application is classed for "Entry by assessment examination" and this examination must be taken and passed at a Studienkolleg.
Once you pass the assessment examination you may enrol at a Bavarian university of applied sciences. However it is dependent on the outcome of the selection procedure.
In addition, a pre-study placement be necessary. If this pre-study placement was not spent in Germany, a certificate translated into German must be presented.
