On WebUntis you can withdraw from an AW Module you have registered for by logging in to WebUntis, clicking on "My Courses", the course you wish to withdraw from and then click "drop course".
To withdraw from an AW Module you have registered for in the AW System, please write an e-mail to the lecturer and ask him/her to remove your name from the participant list.
You can only drop courses during the registration period.
Some courses have a limited number of participants. In such cases, a randomised selection process decides who will receive a place. You will be informed whether you received a spot in the class via email after the selection process is concluded.
Should you not have received a place:
- If you do not need to take the course this semester: take the course in a following semester
- If you need to take a course this semester:
- Visit the AW Website to look for another class that still has places available
- For semester courses: Attend the first class, to see if you may still receive a spot
- For intensive or block courses: Ask for a place by contacting the instructor via email
Every degree programme has its own regulations for how many AW Modules need to be chosen during which semester and how many can be chosen during each semester. Please look this up in your SPO (study and examination regulations). If you have further questions please ask your faculty.
As long as a course is not full, lecturers may allow you to participate in the course even if you have already chosen three AW Modules. Please ask the lecturer after the first lecture about this.
You can enter into a higher level of languages directily, if you have previous knowledge of it. Please do a self assessment to find out which level of language you have according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. To do this please click on this link.
The level of the language course is indicated in the module description (see tab module handbook) and the short title of the course.
Should you still have doubts about whether your level of language is adequate after having been to the first lecture, you can seek advice from the lecturer.
AW Modules start approximately one week after the start of the semester. Block and intensive courses have different times. Please consult the course's individual information to find out more about this. The exact starting date of the AW Modules con be found on this website under "news", or on the WebUntis startpage under the information about AW Modules.
Please register for AW Module exams during the exam registration period through QIS. Should you be taking an AW module as an elective course, you cannot register through QIS. Please write an email to the examination office and register your course this way.
Written language exams take place on the day of centrally scheduled continuous AW assessments (AW-Tag). The relevant examination times can be found in the AW examination plan under "news" or the tab 'Prüfungen' here. The date for the oral language exams will be fixed by the instructor.
Exams for all other AW Modules are generally held before the semester examination period. They are usually conducted during the last lecture.
